Everything at once

Almost a month since I posted anything, and still I don’t have any art to show.

I’m finishing my Hetalia keychains. I’ve just printed out seven copies of all the 14 characters I’ve made and currently in the progress of cutting and pasting the fronts and backs together. (28 of 98 keychains!) My school has a laminating machine for my disposal as long as I buy my own laminating papers, which is cool. I was also reminded to print out more copies of Norway, as he’s likely to be sold more of.  I’ve already sold two of him(!), and there’s still 3 months till Desucon. I’ll post pictures of the keychains when I’m done.

I have to make 1 A3 size fanart, 2-4 A4 and 2-4  A5 and a bunch of bookmarks. I’ve decided that at LEAST an A4 is to be Ace Attorney. Particulary now that I have access to a laminating machine I need to make a lot of bookmarks. Mirjam and I has agreed to buy a double table, but we hope we get 4 entrance-tickets so we can have more artists in our group. We’re gonna stay in Oslo for a week too, and she’s been checking the plane tickets every day for a bargain.

Even though I say I have to finish the stuff til Desucon, I’m too busy before Easter. The teachers have decided to toss everything they can on us before Easter break and I’m so frustrated!

March 10: International English – 5 min presentation of an endangered species (Dolphin)
March 12: Test in Social Studies – International relations
March 16: Test in Theoretical Gymnastic
March 20: Test in Math – Statistics (I’m aiming for ace at this test. Then I only need to land another top grade in the next – and last! – test, and I’ll graduate with ace in Math!)
March 22: International English – 15 min presentation about a multicultural city (Singapore)
March 25: Hand in Human Body project in Design and Architecure (I’ll post the process of this project later )

Wah, I still have Thai to learn! Things to draw! A freaking dolphin presentation to practice for tomorrow!

I curse myself for deciding to draw my most favorite male character (after Itachi and Godot)  in a somewhat realistic style while I’m still so inexperienced in an early phase. I couldn’t do it strictly realistic out of fangirl-respect for him. If I uglify Aizen I’d never be able to forgive myself.   I couldn’t do as the realism tutorials told me to, instead I stumbled somewhere between soft-shade anime/semi-realism land. Next time, I’ll do better! And draw someone I’m not that infatuated with

Even my role models within realism aren’t always drawing picture-perfect realism: dark-spider, jiuge, heise,eat01234 and shuangwen. I do like the 100% realistic picture, but I’m content with drawing soft shade somewhat anime-style to the border of somewhat semi-realism. I’m a believer of aim high – hit just below.  I don’t think I’ll make it all the way (so soon), but I’ll do my best!

There’s no such thing as talent, only practice! Lots of practice.

It’s called boring, with style!

New theme! I was tired of having to stare on SNSD every day.

I was stuck forever on whether or not I wanted a Japanese stationary themed layout.  I was going to settle with a white/pink/light red layout with Kamio Japan’s bunny&teddy plushies and a chocolate bar on the banner, but my eyes were irritated by all the cuteness. I wanted more focus on my artwork and blogging and this simple theme serves that purpose. I never got the description header to look decent in both Chrome and Firefox (not to mention IE!) so I removed it alltogether. Pixels from choco*choco was used to piff up the layout.

I’m gonna  post artwork each time I blog again. The picture above is a realism-practice I made yesterday. Reference was used on her nose (Charlize Theron – noses are really hard!). The girl in the image is an original character, but I made her a younger bohemian version of Norwegian celebrity Maria Arredondo or Veronica Mars’ actor Kristen Bell, which I’m not sure is a good thing.

I’ve also started using Google Chrome as standard browser. Initially it was because it looks cleaner and simpler than Firefox, but when I started using it, all the websites went ka-zing! It took less than a split second for the websites to load! Now I’m completely in love with it Goodbye Firefox, nice knowing you~ Now I need to find an FTP-program to make up for the abandoned Firefox-addon I’ve used as an FTP-client 8D Any tips? Preferrably free and easy to use.

I’m still not done with the preparations for the convention in June, so I’ll go back to that now.
